Projetão — Projeto de Sistemas de Informação (Information Systems Project)

The course

Projeto de Sistemas de Informação (Information Systems Design Project, IF985), the Projetão SI, applies to the Information Systems program the methodology created at CIn in 2002 by Geber Ramalho, Cristiano Araújo, Luciano Meira and André Neves: large groups, a problem the students find on the street, a solution actually built and presented at the end of the semester, at the Demoday, to a panel from the ecosystem (Porto Digital, Jump, CESAR, Softex, SEBRAE). Giordano Cabral has taught the course since 2016.1, usually in the evening shift. Since 2017 he has been part of the faculty of the UFPE Projetão as a whole and is a member of the board of the Instituto de Educação para Inovação (Institute of Education for Innovation), which replicates the method in other programs and institutions.

Semesters

Twenty-one cohorts between 2016.1 and 2026.2, with no offering only in 2023.2 and 2024.1, the period of the postdoctoral fellowship. In 2021.1 the evening cohort brought together Information Systems, Biomedical Engineering, and Medicine, with Fernando Sales; in 2020.1 and 2020.2 the SI cohort followed the joint Projetão Tech course.
